Handmade with heavy-duty materials, time-tested styles, and innovative designs, Martin Guitar’s X Series delivers unique guitars that any musician will love to play. With a variety of body styles and sizes, you can find the HPL guitar that works best for your playing style and music type—rock, country, folk, bluegrass, jazz, pop, and much more.
Choose from many different models, including the 0-X1E, 00-X2E, 00L-X2E, D-X1E, D-X2E, GPC-X2E, and OMC-X1E. Our wooden and high-pressure laminate (HPL) X Series guitars come in a wide variety of sizes and shapes that are specifically designed for different types of tones, volumes, and sounds.
Choose from an assortment of body types: dreadnought, dreadnought cutaway, auditorium, orchestra model cutaway, grand concert slope shoulder guitar, and grand performance cutaway. Each model has distinct features that add personality, performance, and playability to your instrument collection.
The dreadnought body shape is our largest size, which produces the most resonant and voluminous tone, while the auditorium body shape delivers a balanced tone and beautiful projection. The grand performance cutaway model provides a deep and rich bass, while the concert body style adds impeccable volume. The cutaway models also offer an extended musical span.
Many of our guitars are also offered in a left-handed option. Each guitar is designed for enhanced playability, a professional sound, and a timeless tone that only Martin Guitar can deliver. For nearly two centuries, Martin has been producing premium gear for musical artists across the globe. Martin’s superior guitar and string products remain the choice of musicians around the world for their unrivaled quality, craftsmanship, and tone. Still handmade. Still the standard. Martin guitars are the real deal—not an imitation.
The 11GPCX2E-02 Grand Performance electroacoustic guitar combines the classic look and sound of Martin-branded guitars with new technology in the form of components made from renewable resources and composite materials. It offers quality and craftsmanship in keeping with the brand's tradition and reputation, at an affordable price. This makes it accessible to a wider range of interested and talented young musicians.
The front of the guitar is made of solid Sitka spruce, while the back and sides are made of modern HPL in figured rosewood. This combination of materials not only saves the environment, but also provides the instrument with good sound and playing characteristics. The Scalloped X-type ribbing with lowered ribs in the middle gives the guitar a rich, colourful sound that works beautifully in jazz/blues/folk or pop styles.
A Select Hardwood neck, which is attached to the body at the fourteenth fret as standard, is joined by a Select Hardwood fingerboard with twenty frets. A compensated TusQ composite saddle set on a catalox headstock gives the strings, along with a Corian fret, excellent resonance and sustain. A black pickguard protects the guitar's paintwork from scratches caused by pick playing. The final look of the instrument is accentuated by chrome tuning mechanisms.
The instrument's sound system is provided by Fishman MX electronics with controls in the soundhole.
The guitar is supplied in a high-quality case (Soft Gig Bag), making it immediately ready to be loaded into the trunk of your car/van for long or short trips to your musical dreams.
The American Martin company, founded in 1833, is quite deservedly one of the biggest and most respected names in stringed instruments. For decades, it has been one of the leading innovators in guitar design and manufacturing technology. However, to use only the past tense would be a great mistake; instruments with the Martin logo are still today among the guarantees of the highest quality in craftsmanship and sound. In addition, their current products use "eco-friendly" components made from renewable resources and composite materials.
