Sporting two WOCHB double coil pickups, the Vintage VSA500HB is equally adept when comping smooth jazz accompaniments as it is singing out single note blues lines, while its chambered body carries the sound of strummed chords all the way to the back row and beyond. Wherever you direct your attention on this guitar, you can’t help but be impressed. The sunburst finish has been beautifully applied, allowing the maple body to just show through. Rock solid Wilkinson machine heads ensure it always stays in tune, while the twin Wilkinson humbuckers provide exceptional tone at the price point. The mahogany set-in neck features the aforementioned offset heal, which really works in terms of facilitating access to the fretboard’s highest twenty-second fret. The controls satisfy the obligatory requirements of the body style, comprising two volume knobs, two tone, and a three-way toggle switch, while the cherry red finish is tastefully set off by the black three-ply pickguard, cream binding and chrome hardware.
