16-channel Analog-to-Dante Converter
The TASCAM ML-16D feeds 16 channels of audio into or out of a Dante audio network at up to 24-bit/96kHz resolution. AES67 is also supported, so you can connect to Ravenna and other compatible networks. The ML-16D offers the utmost in reliability, thanks to dual redundant Ethernet jacks. This converter's reference level is user selectable, and an LED display provides at-a-glance confirmation of your signal levels. And with Audinate's Dante Controller software, you have the benefit of flexible routing via your Mac or PC. Any institution that wants to add a multitrack audio feed to their existing IP network will find the ML-16D invaluable.
Dante provides an easy way to deliver digital audio
The TASCAM ML-16D is a 16-channel analog-to-Dante converter. Dante (Digital Audio Network Through Ethernet) transmits uncompressed, multichannel digital audio over standard Ethernet with incredibly low latency. At Sweetwater, we've found that using Dante is incredibly convenient. Instead of dealing with a bunch of cumbersome analog cables, you use a single Cat 5e or Cat 6 cable. Rather than running analog cable throughout a studio or concert venue, you can utilize the structure's existing Ethernet network.
The physical location of your devices is irrelevant. As long as your devices are connected to the same Ethernet network, you're good to go. Patching and routing between Dante-enabled devices are handled by Dante Controller software. Dante was originally developed in 2006 and has been adopted by over 150 pro-audio companies.
