The Squier Affinity series is one of the most well-known instrument lines in existence. In fact, this humble collection has provided the platform for many eager musicians to start out with the guitar. The feature updates for the Affinity guitar and bass lineup are as plentiful as they are impactful. The neck profile has been altered, now adopting a slimmer and more comfortable “C” that is easier on the hands. A cosy 9.5” inch fretboard radius is also the default for all guitar and bass necks on the series. The Affinity bodies have also changed for ergonomic purposes – crafted to be lighter and thinner.

The 2021 refresh also sees significant electronic improvements, with redesigned Squier pickups for more refined voicings. They’ve not skipped out on the hardware too. Sealed die-cast tuning machines with split shaft (for guitars) and vintage-style open-gear tuning machines (for bass) make an appearance for smooth, accurate tuning, and easy restringing.
