The Concept Maple 6.5”x14” Wood Hoop snare drum PDP has a fat-sounding backbeat courtesy of an uber-thick 20-ply, all-maple shell. To add to this super thick, warm tone, the snare also features matching maple-plied wood counter hoops to complete the drum’s classic style and sound. To top it off, the Concept Wood Hoop snare is fitted with dual-turret lugs, a DW MAG throw-off, and Remo heads, making sure that all the boxes are ticked for features you’d expect on a pro-level snare drum. 

The PDP PDSN6514NAWH DW Concept Maple Snare Drum with Wood Hoops is a stylish all-purpose drum that has a slightly warmer and tighter sound than a maple drum would have with regular triple-flanged hoops.

Maple is one of the most common materials for drums, creating a sound with an even balance of high and low overtones. This makes it effective for a variety of styles and a variety of tunings. Wood hoops tighten the sound by lowering the fundamental pitch of the drum, shortening the overall resonance, and reducing the number of overtones, but has a slightly smaller affect on the overall sound than the material of the drum itself.
