Gibson Les Paul Deluxe 70s Cherry Sunburst Electric Guitar
Product Information
A 70s Classic Returns
First released in 1969, the Deluxe saw the introduction of the mini humbucker™ to the Les Paul lineup. Mini humbuckers retain the hum-free performance of their full-sized cousins but with a somewhat clearer and brighter tonality. The new Deluxe has features that were inspired by those early models from the 1970s, with a non-weight relief mahogany body and bound maple top, a bound mahogany neck with a Rounded C profile, vintage-style Keystone tuners, Graph Tech® nut, and a traditional Les Paul control layout with 2 Volume and 2 Tone controls wired with Orange Drop® capacitors. Available in classic Goldtop and 70s Cherry Sunburst gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finishes.
Hard and heavy tonewood combo is built to last
Mahogany and maple. This combination of woods has become synonymous with the Les Paul since its arrival on the scene in the early 1950s. The Les Paul Deluxe stays true to this tonal recipe, instilling the thick resonance and warmth lauded by generations of LP players. At its core sits a non-weight-relieved mahogany body, inspired by the Deluxe models of the 1970s. Capping the body is a maple top, adding some serious bite to its sound. Vintage Les Paul owners will feel right at home with the Deluxe's mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard, smooth to the touch and perfect for everything from chunky power chords to soaring leads.
A reintroduction of coveted mini humbuckers
When the original Les Paul Deluxe models came out in 1969, a groundbreaking piece of equipment accompanied them: the mini humbucker. Designed to meet the demands of players in need of a P-90-sized humbucker, mini humbuckers possess the same hum-free performance as a full-sized pickup, but with added tonal benefits. The mini humbucker's narrower magnetic field creates a brighter-sounding pickup with a beautiful clarity that shines through mixes, something Sweetwater players find beneficial for both studio and stage settings. Under the hood, the control assembly is handwired with matched potentiometers and Orange Drop capacitors, ensuring that you'll hear the sweet sounds of the Les Paul Deluxe in all their glory — even when you roll back your volume.
Features:
Period-accurate non-chambered mahogany body capped with gorgeous maple
Effortlessly playable rounded "C" mahogany neck and silky-smooth rosewood fingerboard
2 Gibson mini humbuckers dish out a brighter, clearer sound without the hum
Handwired electronics with Orange Drop capacitors
Gloss nitrocellulose finish for the look and feel of a vintage LP
Vintage Keystone tuners, Tune-o-matic bridge
