Pre-tensioned Snare Bridge
DW's patented Snare Bridge draws inspiration from a celebrated design of the early 1960s. This adjustable cast metal snare rail is pre-tensioned with DW True-Tone snare wires that sit perfectly flush against the bottom head. This gives the Pure Maple True-Sonic a sensitivity that rivals some of the finest concert snares money can buy.

11-ply maple VLT shell
DW's VLT (Vertical Low Timbre) grain orientation gives the DW Pure Maple True-Sonic snare a deep, satisfying punch to match its tremendous resonant potential. Inner and outer plies are rotated vertically, 90° degrees against the 9-ply horizontal-grained core, resulting in less tension on the shell — thus, greater vibrations and a lower pitch overall. This DW Collector's Series' Satin Oil Maple snare drum features a 10-ply shell handcrafted from North American maple. This snare offers the full warm punch and tonality of maple with a classic and natural appearance. The drum is also fitted with our famed MAG throw-off, three-position buttplate, True-Tone Snare Wires', True-Hoops, and DW Heads by Remo U.S.A. Features a hand-rubbed natural satin oil finish. The sensitive True Sonic snare wire bridge is added for a more sensitive and articulate snare buzz.
