Its X/Y microphones capture high-quality stereo sound, supporting up to 24-bit/96 kHz. Songwriters will appreciate seamless overdubbing to create songs layer by layer, while filmmakers and podcast producers will enjoy the H1n's ability to capture clean, distortion-free speech. Ready to Go Where You Go Like other H-Series Handy recorders like the H5 and H6, you can hold it in your hand, mount it to a microphone stand or tripod, or attach it to a camera (a shoe mount is available separately). Emerging from the base of the original H1, the H1n packs a suite of workflow and performance enhancements into a rugged body that's more than ready to meet the diverse demands of videographers, music artists, podcasters, and more.

From abundant battery life to a variety of audio enhancement functions, the H1n is well equipped for tracking live performances, rehearsals, and demos, or for recording sound effects, interviews, and scenes. It can supply plug-in power for condenser lavalier microphones or accept line-level connections directly from a mixer or wireless receiver. Whatever the source, auto recording and selectable pre-recording ensure that you never miss the start of a capture. Simple Layout of General Controls The front panel of the H1n is arranged to ensure easy and direct access to the most commonly used controls—transport buttons for record, play/pause, stop, rewind, and forward operations, one-touch buttons for low-cut filter, limiter, and an auto level function, and a large gain knob (clearly labeled from 0 to 10). Of course, the selectable Auto Level mode makes setup even quicker by automatically adjusting the input level according to the input signal. For added security, the power switch offers a hold position that disables all front panel buttons to prevent accidental operation during recording. Day or night, view important information like audio levels, recording time, battery status and more on the 1.25″ monochrome backlit LCD.

With the H1n, we’ve redesigned the user experience. One-touch button controls make it simple to record songs, audio-for-film, lectures, podcasting, and more. And its new monochromatic 1.25” LCD display is easy to read even in the brightest lighting conditions. Playback Speed Control lets you easily transcribe interviews. For musicians, the A-B repeat comes in handy when you are learning and rehearsing. The overdub feature lets you add new sounds over existing recordings. You can also set the H1n to auto-record, pre-record, and self-time.
