Along with 1959, and 1960, the 1958 Gibson Les Paul is one of the three most collectable model years of the Les Paul Standard. This three-year period is often referred to as the 'holy grail' of Les Paul's, due to the unrivalled luthiershipinvolved in creating these guitars, as well as the P.A.F. (Patent Applied For) humbuckers featured in these guitars. The 1958 model was the first Gibson Les Pauls to feature the iconic 'Burst-style finishes, distinguishing them from previous models, which featured predominantly Black, TV Yellow, or Goldop finishes.

This Gibson 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue VOS, finished in Bourbon Burst, was built by Gibson's master luthiers, with care, precision, and an incredible amount of attention to detail. This is certainly a very faithful recreation, from the hide-glue construction, to the plastic parts which were chemically re-engineered from those used in the original models, to the handwired paper-in-oil capacitors, and the Gibson Custom Buckers, which are designed to be the closest match to the original P.A.Fs as possible.
The Gibson 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue VOS also features a Mahogany body, with a Maple Top, a chunky C-Style ("Baseball Bat") profile Mahogany neck,and an Indian Rosewood fretboard with 22 Narrow/Tall frets, for vintage original spec Les Paul tone and playability.
