The Gibson ES-339 is a modern classic designed for those seeking the tone and look of an ES-335, but desire a slightly smaller, lighter instrument. The pearloid dot inlay rosewood fingerboard on a hand-rolled Rounded "C" mahogany neck remind players where it all started. The 57 / 57 Classic + humbuckers paired with our hand-wired tone circuit showcases the versatile Gibson ES tone that players have craved for over 60 years. Tuning stability and precise intonation are provided by the Grover Rotomatic tuners with Kidney buttons paired with light-weight Aluminum ABR-1 bridge and Stop bar tailpiece.

This popular guitar has a distinctly vintage sound and style, but also an added peppering of modern cut. Its body features a 3-ply construction made up of Maple/Poplar/Maple with a solid Maple centre block and Spruce bracing to tame any wild feedback and add structural support. The comfortable heft of the body is matched by a smooth, comfy Mahogany neck with a ‘50s-style rounded ‘C’ profile and a slick Rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium-jumbo frets. The frets have been perfectly balanced by the Plek Pro process - a high-end feature usually reserved for top-dollar custom guitars. The process levels each fret with pinpoint precision to ensure the best overall action possible for the best sound and feel you can get.

This ES-339 derives its distinctive, vintage character from a pair of Gibson’s powerful ‘57 Classic humbucking pickups. These pickups are a brilliant recreation of the PAF pickups used in the early Gibson guitars that helped to create the iconic and instantly-recognised Gibson sound. Beyond this, the ‘57 Classics are also able to add some extra oomph to your sound; the bridge-positioned pickup is a Classic+ that utilises overwound coils to add extra bite when you need it. These pickups also benefit from the addition of hand-wired tone circuits for the best possible signal.
