The Performance Series HVX shells blend horizontal, vertical, and diagonal plies of hand-selected North American hard rock maple (eight in total) and are voiced to give you solid low mids with a lot of punch and articulation. You'll find that these drums offer resonance and projection that's perfect for live performance. The maple shells give your sound definition and great response. You won't have to fight with mushy tones that get lost in the mix either, thanks to maple's natural brightness and clarity. Add a powerful punch and attack to your kit with the DW Performance Series.

Gain more control over your tuning and your tone with DW's Performance Series. True-Pitch tuning rods use a tighter threaded tension rod so you can more precisely intonate your kit. True-Pitch tuning rods have 20% more threads than common tuning rods, so the DW Performance Series drums can be tuned more precisely than most drums on the market. Plus, DW endowed the Performance Series drums with their STM suspension tom mount. This patented system allows your toms to resonate freely, maximizing the tonality while keeping the drum securely in place. And the 45-degree back-cut bearing edge minimizes contact with the drum head, which allows the head and the shell to resonate more freely for incredible sound.
