The M3 includes a built-in shotgun microphone with a specially designed shockmount that keeps setup light and ensures minimal handling noise, along with a line output to send audio to your camera. You also get a selectable mono/stereo pickup pattern for capturing dialog, music, or ambience with spot-on precision. What's more, the M3 saves backup M-S RAW files for further editing during post with the included M3 Edit and Play software. What's more, the M3 can function as a USB microphone, and you can use it as a USB microphone and a 2-channel SD recorder simultaneously. The Zoom M3 MicTrak includes mono and stereo recording modes. Mono mode is great for capturing dialog, 90° yields an accurate, transparent stereo recording, and 120° creates a generous stereo capture that's tailor-made for ambience or sound effects. Beyond that, the M3 saves backup mid-side RAW files, allowing you to adjust the stereo width of your recording in post. We're huge fans of the M3's included Edit and Play software, which facilitates stereo adjustments and normalization for syncing and editing. This on-camera recorder's headphone output makes quick referencing easy, and its 3.5mm stereo output makes connecting to your camera a breeze. To top it off, you get 12 hours of battery life, ensuring that the M3 is ready to record whenever you need it.
