This Starphonic Copper snare drum is a premium metal snare worthy of the TAMA Star Reserve name. Its premium-grade 1.2mm copper shell is handcrafted and brushed with a gorgeous satin finish. This unique shell design delivers rich, raw, dry, dark tone in its center that is at once articulate and throaty. The outer edges of the shell are where the drum opens up with higher-pitched overtones, ideal for mixing in almost any style of music. These tonal qualities, paired with copper's natural sensitivity and projection, make the Starphonic Copper snare drum a favorite snare among drummers at here.  For the first time in the history of the STARPHONIC series, the PCP147 snare drum features a 1.2 mm copper shell with a 7" depth, creating an extraordinary raw, dark tone with rich low frequencies in its overtone. Combining outstanding STARPHONIC features such as a Grooved Hoop and a Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon snare wire, the PCP147 provides improved sensitivity and controlled sound.

Linear-Drive throw off and butt plate
The TAMA Starphonic Copper snare drum's throw off prevents the "slap" of snare wires hitting the bottom head, allowing seamless transitions between tenored and active snare tones. The Linear-Drive system holds snare wires firmly and safely at a 30-degree angle and features a linear-motion strainer mechanism for precise snare tensioning. A matching butt plate completes the set. With TAMA's patented Freedom Lug and Claw Hook system, you can easily replace your heads by loosening the tension rods and tilting the claw hooks away from the Grooved Hoop. This saves you from removing all of the tension rods — a huge time saver.
